September 11th - September 15th
What a great first week of school! We completed most of our LA and Math baseline assessments and are ready to begin LA and Math stations!
This is what we will be doing this week:
Language Arts: Throughout the week we will be working through 4 different stations. These stations include precision reading & typing practice, guided reading, writers workshop, and word work & printing practice. Our home reading program will begin sometime this week. Students will be asked to read 15 minutes every night and will be bringing home a reading sheet for an initial.
Math: We will start working through our 4 Math stations. These stations include a guided lesson, workbook practice, application games, and Mathletics. The first unit we will be working on is Number Sense.
Social Studies: Last week we brainstormed what we know about Canada. This week we are going to focus on where Canada is on the world map, and work on our mapping skills.
Science: Mr. T is going to be teaching you Science this year! Wooohooo! This week he will talk about what you are going to learn about this year, and you will begin your first unit!
