I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing weekend! This is what we will be doing this week:
Language Arts: We have been working hard on using the decoding strategy called, Eagle Eye. This week we will learn a new strategy called, Skippy Frog. When you are reading and cannot decode a word, you skip the word and continue reading the sentence. You then return back to the word to see if you can now figure it out. It would be great if everyone could practice this strategy at home while doing their home reading. We will also continue working through our different literacy stations.
Math: This week we will finish learning about the greater and less than signs, and start learning about rounding numbers to the nearest 10. Remember, if a number ends in a number that is 5 or larger, you round up. If the number is 4 or lower you round down.
Social Studies: This week we will begin learning about Terry Fox. Terry Fox is a famous Canadian hero! Start thinking about what makes someone a hero.
Science: You will continue working on your paper mache planets!
We will be having a Halloween party Tuesday afternoon. Please feel free to wear your costumes to school!
